The truth is, I wasn’t comfortable doing this photo shoot. Not because of the photographer, but because of me.

I had to confront some of my own self-criticism. I realised that I had become ageist towards myself. The irony is that I have always celebrated strong, beautiful and vibrant women at every age, yet somewhere along the way I decided different rules applied to me. I told myself I shouldn’t be sexy, I shouldn’t be seen and that I should quietly fade into the background.

I had to put that voice to bed and allow someone else to see me.

That took a lot of backbone and many months of contemplation.

My beautiful photographer friend promised that she would capture me in a way that was authentic, tasteful and true. I trusted her, and she captured this moment perfectly.

What I love most about this photograph is the expression on my face. It’s the moment I looked at myself and thought, “You know what? I don’t look too bad.”

The funny thing is, the older I become, the less interested I am in perfection and the more interested I am in authenticity.

I wanted photographs that I could look back on one day and think, “I remember her. I remember how hard she fought to become herself.”

I’m really glad I did this.

A friend and I recently had some photos taken by Kira. And what a wonderful experience!

We are both 64. We have been friends since starting school together. We do share a sense of fun and a desire to try new things but we are quite ordinary women. We are both grandmothers and live an everyday suburban life.

We probably have got a little bolder as we have grown older and have had some wonderful adventures in our more mature years. I am more timid than my friend and without her I would have missed out on a lot. I need a shove sometimes to overcome my shyness.

It’s because of her that we came to Kira. “How about we get a few nice photos taken of us” she asked about 6 months ago. Okay I said not really knowing what I was getting into. Before I knew it she had booked a shoot with Kira. After I found out that this was not just “a few nice photos” I instantly regretted being so agreeable.

I hate being in the spotlight. And one of the things I hate most is having my photo taken. I only had about 3 or 4 photos of myself that I like. These are always candid as the sight of a camera makes me freeze. So something more than just getting a couple of “nice photos” filled me with dread! But I had said I’d do it so there was no backing out now.

We arrived for the shoot and I was feeling so very nervous. I’m sure Kira knew immediately that she had her work cut out for her with me. I was so tense and had firm ideas about what I would and wouldn’t do. But after a very nervous start it turned into a fantastic day.

I will admit to feeling very uncomfortable at the start. But it soon became so much fun!! Having makeup done and dressing up and initially pretending to be someone else. But then somehow it wasn’t pretending anymore... more glamorous, more confident, feeling feminine and another personality but somehow still ME.

Kira makes it all ok. I ended up forgetting she had a camera in her hand. She gave us a few peeks in her camera at the photos she’d taken. And they were great. No tricks, no photoshop. Just us... but in a way we had never seen ourselves. And that gave us the confidence to embrace it.

The experience alone without the photos was worth it.

A few weeks later we nervously returned to see the results. Another amazing day!

I cannot describe the feeling of seeing yourself as a whole new you. A better you. Confident and relaxed and maybe a bit mysterious and glamorous and fun. Who knew that was there all the time???

Kira manages to find the you that is hidden inside. Behind all your insecurities and doubts and fears. And believe me, I had those in bucket loads! She is such a talented insightful person who uses her passion and creativity to bring out the potential she sees in you. The photos are magnificent! Thank you Kira for your beautiful work.

If you have ever thought about doing something like this but were held back by self doubt... just do it! I’m sure you’ll love it.

I’d like to reach out to all those women out there who are waiting until they lose the last 5/10 kilos before updating their family photos. I’m here to tell you that you do not need to delay booking this in with the amazing Kira.

I recently ‘bit the bullet’ and decided to have a photoshoot done with Kira and what I got in return was far more than simply stunning photos (I don’t even mind saying myself!)

Firstly Kira has a way of putting people at ease immediately. She took the time to sit and have a chat with me and I later realised that she was wanting to learn about me… as in my true self. I’m sure this is a large reason why my photos came out with me looking authentically like me – and in the most flattering way.

Secondly in the world of selfies and photos being taken for photos sake… I also gained some great knowledge on how best to position myself for these impromptu snaps with friends and family. I had no idea how much of a difference a slight turn or change in head tilt could be for flattering photos… and even shaving off kilos!

Thirdly – and probably most importantly – how I felt about myself both in walking out of the appointment with Kira as well as when I got the photos is something I won’t ever forget. I can tell Kira enjoys her job – because it’s like she wants to celebrate you being you… and with an eye like I’ve never seen in a photographer before, Kira finds the inner beauty in a woman and brings it out and shows it to the world in an elegant, stunning way.

My session with Kira has had a lasting effect on me and my self esteem. My treasured photos really reflect that.

I cannot recommend Kira highly enough. She is an exceptionally talented photographer/artist. I am marking my 70th birthday this year and had some photos done by Kira a few years ago, and decided to do it all again to celebrate this milestone because she brings out the person you didn’t know was hiding inside you. She not only has the technical skills, and knows what’s needed in terms of lighting and posing and what lens to use, but is able to turn you from a frumpy old lady into someone confident, beguiling and interesting. The finished products will knock your socks off.

My experience with Kira went beyond expectations. She made me feel welcome, comfortable & supported. I chose to do the photo shoot as a personal challenge. I do not like being in photos & this was something completely out of my comfort zones. Seeing my photos was moving to be honest & I could see that it meant something to Kira too. Just like any girl dreaming and believing in fairytales, Kira helped me make a part of my dream a reality. I felt as if I’m a character in one of Edgar Allen Poe’s poems or getting ready to meet my knight in shining armour in a magical castle. From French style furnitures and background to costumes, from bejewelled crown to a seductive mask, stories were told and fantasies were born. Loved every minute of it. My hair and make up artist did a great job styling me to portray a 19th century woman. This was the best birthday present I have given myself in 54 years. I can’t wait to go back for more exceptional photo shoot.

I recently had a photoshoot done to celebrate a milestone birthday which was my second session with Kira in 10 years. I returned because there is no one like her. I recently had a Photo shoot with Kira to celebrate a milestone birthday. I’ve never had professional photos taken before except for my wedding, but Kira made the entire process so enjoyable. She gave great tips on posing, worked with me on a look and feel, and made me feel so comfortable and confident. Yesterday I saw the photos for the first time and I’m so thrilled! They are beautiful! I’m so excited that I did this and that I had Kira to guide me through it. 10/10 recommend!

I’ve never done professional photoshoot previously. I was so nervous to the point where I could not even sleep the night before. When I arrived at Kira’s place, she was so welcoming, I was feeling safe and comfortable before the photoshoot. Even though I know what I want to with my shoots I left it to Kira’s hands as her works are so special and talented.

Kira taught me all the poses from my head to toes and she was so patient as she had to repeat herself more than hundred of times throughout the shoot. After the first shoot Kira showed me the photos from her camera I was amazed and shocked as no way it is me in the photo even though she just took it 2 seconds ago! I’m so proud to capture my youth and beauty with Kira! She is one amazing most talented woman I have ever met.

My journey into Kira’s magnificent artwork began over a year ago when I saw her photographic masterpieces on Facebook and fell in love with them. I was especially moved by the beauty of her images with one particular black horse, whose name was Marcus, as I learnt later. Ever since, I was captivated by the thought of going to Australia and meeting this incredible photographer! My dream came true this June, when my daughter and I made it to our Australian vacation!

Kira went above and beyond to give us an experience of a lifetime, despite us learning about tragic death of Marcus and our inability to ever meet him in person!

We had a thrilling and magical photo shoot at the ranch with another gorgeous horse. Kira was incredibly knowledgeable, professional and caring! Her feel for model’s preferences, talents, mood at the moment and ability to gently direct for the best lighting and pose is incredible. I have never had so much fun during photo shoot ever! My 13 y.o. daughter shared the fun and joy of working with Kira and proclaimed her “the best photographer ever”. I wholeheartedly concur!!!

Before our day at the ranch, we were dolled up by wonderful hair and makeup artist, Catherine Hadaj. She has great taste and magic touch and will transform anybody into glamorous model with ease and great attention to model’s desires!

Meeting Kira and her wonderful team was a highlight of our vacation! The end product of our photo shoot was even better than I expected! The pictures captured different moods, settings and interactions of my beloved daughter, myself and the horse in the ways, I could never believe would be possible! Amazing job, Kira! My daughter and I had a Mother’s Day photoshoot with Kira recently. Neither of us had ever had professional photos taken, and I must admit we were both a little nervous and camera shy.

In next to no time, Kira’s vivacious and engaging personality had us both feeling relaxed, comfortable and at ease in front of the camera.

Kira is absolutely amazing! She did a photoshoot for me and mum a few months ago and I don’t think we’ll be able to get better photos ever. First we had a long chat about what we wanted out of the shoot and Kira helped do the makeup. Wow! Where do I begin? My experience with Kira. After admiring her amazing images for such a long time, my friend and I decided we needed some lessons from Kira. After a warm welcoming into her home and studio we spent the next 3 days learning so much about posing and photographing women. Kira didn’t hold back, she was extremely concerned about us learning as much as we can. It was a unique but wonderful experience. During the course of the training, we decided if we are going to offer boudoir and glamour photography to our clients we need to experience being a client ourselves. So on the 4th day we started the day with hair and make up (and I’m still stunned on how beautiful that was!) and then onto being in front of the lens for a change. With Kira’s soft and gentle direction, we made a memory that will last a lifetime. When Kira is at work she is only concerned for her client, their comfort and their genuine enjoyment of the day. When the first image was sent as a teaser, it just blew me away! Was that really me? To this day my fiancé still loves that image and he only just received a little black book of my images yesterday and he is over the moon! After many years of being together I have to say that having a boudoir and glamour photography can add some romance back into your life! I could go on and on but I don’t want to bore you. Simply, if you are looking for an amazing, confidence-building experience and just want to feel beautiful again – you can’t beat Art Photography by Kira.

We did a photo session for a couple in June 2025. Kira delivered results beyond expectations! Kira was asked to capture feelings between two people, their unique interactions and get it put on paper. Kira has a special talent to open people and bring out the best in them. The photos we got have become our family treasure, our investment and pride.
